Developed in partnership with the MIT Office of Digital Learning, MIT Office of Communications,
and MIT Center for Collective Intelligence, two MIT alums & Climate CoLab winners, Rajesh Kasturirangan and Dave Damm-Luhr, recently launched a new open online experiment aimed at turning climate knowledge to action called ClimateX.
Based on their winning proposal in Climate CoLab’s MIT Alumni contest, the team is prototyping a peer-to-peer platform for climate education and action, through an 8 week pilot project. The initiative, which began earlier this month, aims to provide a forum for the MIT community & alumni, and learners from around the world to connect and drive climate action ideas forward. In beta, the platform features:
· A weekly webinar series, led by MIT grad students and alums, on a range of climate topics;
· A simple digital community where you can form groups and discuss; and
· A challenge platform where you can propose, develop and get feedback on real solutions — local or global — to specific climate issues.
