Kicking off the New Year 2016

As we look back at all that has been accomplished in 2015 — and as we look toward what lies ahead in 2016 — we are thankful for the hard work, brilliant thinking, and strong dedication of the people who make the Climate CoLab possible: our funders, collaborating organizations, Advisors, Judges, Fellows, Catalysts and other volunteers, winners, authors, and members.

We are very excited for what is in store for this year, and we hope you will join us.  Here’s to 2016!

2015 by the Numbers

  • 7 contests focused on integrated proposals, launching a pilot initiative we will continue in 2016
  • 10 contests were run or launched with collaborating organizations, including Nike and the World Bank
  • 550 proposals were submitted
  • Around 11,500 votes were cast
  • 127 experts served as contest Advisors & Judges
  • 57 graduate students and young professionals served as contest Fellows
  • 9 graduate students and young professionals joined the inaugural Impact Assessment Fellow team
  • Around 200 people attended the Crowds & Climate conference on the MIT campus

New workspaces open!

The Climate CoLab team is currently working with partners, Advisors and Fellows to create the contests for 2016.

In the meantime, we have opened a set of Workspaces where members are invited to submit and work on proposals now for key areas of the climate change problem.

Try out new ideas, connect with other members, recruit collaborators, share your work, engage support, and invite a global community to review and help develop your proposal.

All proposals submitted now will be considered when the contest officially launches, and contributors will be notified so they can review the official contest description, prizes, timelines and guidelines.
